October 2, 2024 – In response to strikes that began October 1 affecting East Coast and Gulf Coast ports, ILLUMUS has implemented proactive steps to ensure minimal disruptions to our operations and continue to meet customer demand. While the strikes, primarily driven by wage negotiations and concerns over automation, are impacting a large portion of U.S. imports, ILLUMUS is prepared to address the situation.
“Our team has strategically built-up inventory in our five distribution centers across the U.S. to ensure we’re in a strong position during disruptions like this,” said Garrett Smiley, VP of Operations. “In our Sanford, FL facility, we manufacture over 30 product families from raw materials and products that can help fill gaps where needed. We are closely monitoring the situation and will continue adjusting as necessary to provide the level of service our partners expect from ILLUMUS.”
Once we have a better understanding of project impacts, our team will proactively reach out to our agents and customers to brainstorm solutions, including alternate products where necessary, to ensure continuous fulfillment of orders. Currently, the majority of our product families will not be affected by this strike.
In the event the strike continues, ILLUMUS is ready to explore solutions that maintain the flow of materials and minimize any impact on our partners’ projects.
